This inaugural film festival has provided many opportunities to come together to understand current issues relating to the environment and the audience’s relationship with their surroundings. Whether this was from a children’s film, an educational workshop or a documentary, audiences have been impressed by the variety of film and the entertaining yet informative content.
Thank you to the keen band of volunteers which has emerged from the festival, this group will be developed over the year to take the ideas out of the confines of the theatre and also to provide support to the film festival. Images from 2012 People and Planet Film Festival
It is hoped that a programme can be developed for those looking for voluntary opportunities such as Duke of Edinburgh, work experience placements, media studies students and this is likely to be developed in partnership with the 3rd sector.
A huge learning curve and a great success the People and Planet Film Festival is now set in Darwen Library Theatre’s calendar and looks to be a regular fixture.
